Pearl River Sports: Winter Games Begin

Brian Del Savio's first game as head coach of the Pearl River ice hockey team begins 6:55 p.m. tonight against Scarsdale at Murrays Ice Rink. 

Del Savio, who had been an assistant with the team for six seasons, takes over for Tony Capone, who remains with the team as an assistant coach.

Tonight's game is the opener of the winter sports season at Pearl River. The schedule for the opening week of high school winter sports in Pearl River is as follows:

Monday, Dec. 2

  • Ice hockey: Pearl River vs. Scarsdale at Murrays Ice Rink, 6:55 p.m.
Tuesday, Dec. 3
  • Bowling: Pearl River vs. Tappan Zee at New City Lanes, 3:30 p.m.
Wednesday, Dec. 4
  • Bowling: Pearl River vs. Clarkstown at New City Lanes, 3:30 p.m.
Thursday, Dec. 5
  • Boys basketball: East Ramapo at Pearl River, 4 p.m.
  • Girls basketball: Pearl River vs. Maria Regina in Byram Hills Tournament, 4:30 p.m.
Friday, Dec. 6
  • Ice hockey: Pearl River vs. Nyack/Tappan Zee at Palisades Ice Center, 5:45 p.m.
Saturday, Dec. 7
  • Boys basketball: Clarkstown South at Pearl River, 2 p.m.
  • Girls basketball: Pearl River at Byram Hills Tournament, consolation at 2 p.m. or championship at 6 p.m.
  • Ice hockey: Pearl River vs. ETB at Sport-O-Rama, time to be determined
  • Girls track and field: Pearl River at Fordham Meet, time to be determined
