The top eight singles players and doubles teams advance from the league championships to the conference championships to be held at Clarkstown South on May 17 and 18. Strategy in this tourney can be critical and may result in players who have competed in singles throughout the regular season being paired up as doubles partners.  The alignment of each team’s competitors is determined usually based on where the coaches thinks their players are best suited to advance to conference play.

The tournament is single elimination in both singles and doubles with the top four players and doubles teams in each classification receiving seeds into the conference championships.  Matches are determined by the best two out of three sets and no player can compete in more than two matches on either day of the tournament.

The advantage of being seeded is the certainty of a more advantageous position in the first round of the conference tournament and the opportunity to avoid being matched with a highly-rated foe.
