Pearl River Wins Boys League Cross Country Championship

Pearl River took four of the first five spots to win the League 4B boys cross country championship Tuesday at Bear Mountain.

Tappan Zee entered the League 4B boys cross country championship meet at Bear Mountain Tuesday ranked No 5 in the state by the New York State Sportswriters Association, just two spots ahead of No. 2 Pearl River.

Just as they did when the teams met during the regular season, the Pirates reversed that order in the league championship meet, placing four runners in the first five positions overall to win the 4B title.

Brian Cook led the way for Pearl River, finishing first overall in 15:44.78 with teammate Brian Edsall second. Nyack's Ahmed Ahmed took third place.

Kyle Chesterman was Nanuet's top finisher in sixth place. Joe Dinan led the way for Tappan Zee in seventh.
