Pearl River Wins Rye Neck Boys Basketball Tournament
Kevin Degnan scored 21 points and pulled down 14 rebounds as Pearl River defeated host Rye Neck, 65-47, in Saturday's championship game.
Pearl River junior forward Kevin Degnan earned MVP honors and led Pearl River to the championship in the Rye Neck Holiday Tournament.
Degnan scored 21 points and grabbed 14 rebounds as the Pirates defeated Rye Neck, 65-47, in Saturday's championship game. He also had 19 points and 10 rebounds in Friday's 46-39 win against Westlake.
Sophomore guard Jack Byrnes hit four 3-point shots and finished with 16 points in the championshp game, earning all-tournament honors. Senior forward Tom Davis added 12 points Saturday for the Pirates, who improved their record to 4-1.

Pearl River's next game is 7 p.m. Tuesday at home against Tappan Zee. The game had been scheduled as part of Pearl River's annual tournament, but the other games were cancelled when Nyack pulled out.
