Pearl River's Muldoon Finishes 3rd At Eastern States

Pearl River senior John Muldoon suffered his first defeat of the season Saturday, a 5-4 loss to Chris Mauriello of Hauppage in the 132 pounds semifinals of the Eastern States Wrestling Classic at SUNY Sullivan.

Muldoon rallied to win the third-place match. 

Muldoon defeated Chris Truglio of Minisink Valley in the quarterfinals Saturday to reach the semis. 

Tappan Zee's Mike Manni (285 pounds) lost in the quarterfinals earlier in the day Saturday, but went on to take third place.

John Jartnett of Tappan Zee reached the finals at 220 pounds, but was pinned by defending state champion Rich Sisti of Monsignor Farrell in the title match.
