Rockland Coaches Invitational Track & Field Meet Draws Competition to RCC

Schools from Rockland and Westchester competed at Rockland Community College

Schools from throughout Rockland and Westchester counties competed Wednesday in the Rockland Coaches Invitational at Rockland Community College.

North Rockland won the boys side of things with 65 total points, followed by Arlington (56 points), Suffern (52.83 points), Clarkstown South (37.33 points) and Tappan Zee (35 points). Suffern topped the girls side with 87 points, followed by New Rochelle (40.33 points), North Rockland (37.5 points), Clarkstown South (30 points) and Tappan Zee (28 points).


Local winners on the boys side were Tappan Zee’s Luke Gavigan, who topped the 1,000 meter run with a time of 2:39.20. Clarkstown South’s Chris Guglielmo finished first in the pole vault with a mark of 12-06.00.  In the shot put, Tappan Zee’s Andrew Tomassetti finished first with teammate Pat Walpole coming in second.

In the girls event, locals winners included Pearl River’s Meghan Keetley, who topped the 1,500 meter race walk with a time of 7:41.20. Dana Rokicsak, from Clarkstown South, won the pole vault with a mark of 8-06.00. Clarkstown North’s Lorraine Santiago won the triple jump with a mark of 36-05.00 and also won the long with with a mark of 16-01.50. Clarkstown South’s Alyssa McQuillan won the shot put with a mark of 32-05.25.
