Rockland Athlete Medals at Maccabiah Games

Chelsea Zeig of Pearl River earned three medals over the last two days at the 19th World Maccabiah Games, an international competition among Jewish athletes held every four years in Israel.

Zeig set a new personal record with a distance of 36-6 to win silver in the shot put Wednesday, the same day she took bronze in the hammer throw. She earned a bronze medal in the discus Thursday while finishing fourth in the javelin. She competed in the open division in all four events.

"This experience has been amazing and I have met incredible people who love to throw just like me! I'm in awe of this whole experience," Zeig wrote in her blog
