[VIDEO] Rye Edges Pearl River in Girls Lacrosse Semis

Defending champion Pearl River's season came to an end with a 12-11 loss at Rye in the Section 1 Class C semifinals Tuesday.

The Pearl River girls lacrosse team ran out of upsets Tuesday.

The Pirates were the defending section champions in Class C, but had lost much of that team to graduation and entered this year's tournament as the No. 9 seed.

Pearl River won at No. 8 Edgemont and top-seeded Nyack to reach the semifinals before the Pirates' run came to an end with a 12-11 loss at No. 4 Rye Tuesday.

Rye (12-5-2) will play No. 7 Byram Hills for the Section 1 Class C championship 3 p.m. Thursday at Fox Lane High School. Byram Hills won at No. 3 Irvington, 17-7, in Tuesday's semifinals.

The championship games had been scheduled for Wednesday at Suffern, but the weather-related postponements forced the change.

Pearl River finishes the season with a record of 12-8-1.

An issues conference will be a wast of time and money. So many ' issues ' have been pulled out ofRead More thin air. The people who organized against the plant will just keep saying the same thing. No amount of info will be enough, no answer will be accepted. The issues conference will be a circus of endless questions, ideas, and demands. Haverstraw bay reclassified as drinking water will better protect it, provide an endless supply of water and finally help end the stereotype of the Hudson being polluted Recommend
