Pearl River Sports Scognamiglio, Walsh Earn All-State Soccer Honors

Pearl River Senior Marissa Scognamiglio was named first-team all-state in Class A by the New York State Sportswriters Association. Casey Walsh made the third team. UPDATE with girls basketball game postponed.

Pearl River seniors Marissa Scognamiglio and Casey Walsh sparked much of the offense for this fall. 

Both earned 2012 NYSSCOGS/NYSSWA All-State Girls Soccer honors for their efforts, Scognamiglio making first-team all-state in Class A and Walsh taking a spot on the third team. 

Scognmigilo also started at point guard for Pearl River's section championship girls basketball team last season. The Pirates' scheduled home game against Clarkstown North was postponed. No make-up date has been announced yet.  

Friday's Schedule

  • Pearl River girls basketball at home against Clarkstown North, 4 p.m. - Postponed. Make-up date to be announced. 
  • Pearl River boys basketball plays Westlake in the Rye Neck Tournament, 5 p.m.

Saturday's Schedule

  • Pearl River wrestling competes in the Cornwall Tournament, 9:30 a.m.
  • Pearl River girls track runs in teh Ignation Invitational at Fordham University, 12:30 p.m.
  • Pearl River boys basketball in Rye Neck Tournament, consolation at 1 p.m. and championship at 3 p.m.

Sunday's Schedule

  • Pearl River hockey plays Hendrick Hudson at Brewster Ice Arena, 6:20 p.m.
