Section 1 revised the Section 1 field hockey playoff brackets in Class A and Class B Wednesday morning to correct the placement of Yorktown, which belongs in Class A.
Section 1 playoff brackets are always approved pending a 24-hour protest period. The field hockey seedings and matchups were set Tuesday and revised Wednesday.
This changed the playoff opposition for local teams. Pearl River is still the No. 4 seed and will play at home 1 p.m. Friday, but the opponent is now No. 13 Sleepy Hollow rather than Putnam Valley. Pearl River's boys soccer team will open the playoffs with a game that follows at 3 p.m.
No. 6 Nyack and No. 10 Nanuet had been scheduled to play each other in the first round. Now Nyack will play at home Friday against Somers. The start time for that game remains 3 p.m. and will be played at Nyack High School.
Nanuet will play the same day at No. 7 Pelham.
