State Releases Football Enrollment Cut-offs, Pearl River Remains in Class A

Pearl River will once again be one of the smallest schools in Class A.

The NYSPHSAA released its BEDS enrollment numbers and the cut-offs for each classification in football Thursday.

The BEDS enrollment takes into account the number of students in grades nine through 11. Those numbers can be found here. The cut-offs for each sport are listed here

Those cut-offs for football are as follows:

  • Class AA: 1,000 and higher
  • Class A: 600-999
  • Class B: 400-599
  • Class C: 260-399
  • Class D: 259 and lower

Pearl River, with 617, will remain one of the smallest schools in Class A for football. Among the 28 teams in Class A for 2013-14, only Hendrick Hudson will be smaller. That is one smaller than 2012-13 with Fox Lane moving up.

The release of the BEDS numbers and cut-offs allows Section 1 to move forward in making its schedules for the upcoming season.

I fully support these folks in their effort to find a cure to cancer. This guy Murphy seems like heRead More has a head for numbers. Any chance one of these days he will offer up what he has done or will do as a county legislator to fix the financial mess our county is in? Bon Appétit!
