Super Bowl XLVI: Anticipation And Images From Indy

Rockland County residents are sharing their experiences and pictures from Indianapolis, the site for Super Bowl XLVI. Add yours here.

Sheldon Horowitz is one of several New City residents who made the trip west for the big game, bringing along his 10-year-old son, Brett. It’s the first Super Bowl for both of them.

Brett Horowitz was so excited for the game that on their flight Saturday morning, he got up in the aisle of the plane and performed Victor Cruz’s salsa dance, drawing applause from many on the plane. The Giants wide receiver celebrated all of his touchdown receptions this year by salsa dancing in the end zone.

Before leaving, Brett also had a Giants logo shaved into his head.

“We decided to go the Monday after they won [the NFC Championship],” Sheldon Horowitz. “It’s really a dream trip for a 10-year-old.”

The two are staying in Cincinnati and will make the roughly two-hour drive to Indianapolis early Sunday morning. They’ll spend the whole day and night around the stadium.

Brett thinks the Giants will win 24-21, with his favorite player Victor Cruz earning MVP honors.

Joe Ruback and Clarkstown Councilman Frank Borelli, both from New City, and Sheila Morahan-Gick from Nanuet also made the trip to Indianapolis to see the New York Giants play the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLVI.

Giants Fans Ruback—also known as License Plate Guy—and Morahan-Gick shared pictures from their trip so far, including images from the Giants' team hotel.
