Thanks to the holidays, the majority of the Pirates enjoyed a long weekend. However, Pearl River did send several athletes to the Bronx to compete in the Manhattan Invitational at the Historic Van Cortlandt Park.

The boys were led by senior Joe Clinton who finished 15th in the Varsity E competition and junior Brian Edsall who came in two spots behind him. On the other hand the girls outdid the boys, as Kelly Hayes and Ceili McMorrow each finished in the top five of the Varsity D girls race.

The Pearl River boys soccer team suffered its first loss of the season Monday at home against Lakeland, 1-0. More details of that game to follow later today. The rest of Pearl River's teams will return to a full slate of games on Tuesday.
