The Franklin Avenue Playground Committee's record-breaking ice cream sundae event, Pearl River Rotary Scholarships and Pearl River High School Sports Awards were among the highlights of the past week in Pearl River.
The promise of ice cream drew a crowd of hundreds to the Central Avenue Field in Pearl River Friday. The Franklin Ave. Playground Committee organized the building of a 406-foot, eight-inch ice cream sundae, more than double the Guinness World Record.Â
That was just one of the highlights of the past week in Pearl River.

- Tuesday night was a busy one, with the Orangetown Board holding key discussions at its workshop meeting. One primary focus was the ongoing contract negotiation between the town and the PBA. Another is Rockland County's plan to push the expense of college charge-backs onto the towns.Â
