The Chance Cosgrove Foundation held the Second Annual Chase Cosgrove Golf Outing at Rockland County Country Club Monday morning.

The foundation was formed by the friends and family of Chance Cosgrove after his tragic death at the age of 12 in 2009. The idea was to continue supporting programs that Cosgrove had been involved in.

A barbeque lunch was available for golfers upon arrival. A putting competition kicked things off and the golfers hit the links just before 1 p.m.

“Chance loved golf,” said Grace Cosgrove. “He took lessons at Rockland Country Club where his grandfather is a member.”

“It was really a great thing for them. A way to enjoy some time with each other,” added Greg Cosgrove.

Dozens of prizes donated from various local businesses were auctioned off and prizes were give out for longest drive, lowest score, highest score and more.

“We established this foundation to continue giving back to some of the charities that Chance himself was involved in,” said Greg Cosgrove. “He was involved with St. Baldrick’s, we donated a batting cage to the Pearl River Little League and Hi-Tor Animal Shelter. This year we were even able to grant a wish for a family through the Hudson Valley Make a Wish Foundation. The people and donations are the fuel that we need and it’s great to see all these people here today.”
