Rand Realty, American Cancer Society Holding Breast Cancer Awareness Events

The Pearl River office of Better Homes and Gardens Rand Realty will be holding a fundraiser to aid its part to raise breast cancer awareness Wednesday.

They will be holding their 2nd Annual Silent Auction  and Tricky Tray from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesday at the Rockland Irish American Cultural Center in Blauvelt, NY. For more information, call (845) 735-3020. A partial list of the items available and prizes is below.

Better Homes and Gardens Rand Realty will be participating in the American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk Sunday, Oct. 16 at Woodbury Commons, one of two such events in New York that day. The other is in Dutchess Stadium in Wappinger Falls.

Thursday is Pink Hat Day at Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern. "The Pink Hat Club" and "Real Men Wear Pink" are the themes of the day. Dr. Karen Karsif, medical director of The Center for Breast Health at Good Samaritan Hospital, and The Pink Hat Patrol will go through the hospital asking for $1 donations to help fight breast cancer. A competition for the most creative pink hat is open to all. Judging for the "Most Creative Pinkster" takes place in the lobby at 2:15 p.m. and the winner receives a $25 gift card.
