St. Aedan's CYO Basketball Donates to Catholic Charities

The St. Aedan's CYO of Pearl River gave $500 to Catholic Charities of Rockland to help the organization's food pantry last week.

The St. Aedan's Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) Basksetball program of Pearl River made a $500 donation to Catholic Charities of Rockland.

The money will go to help funding the organization's food pantry.

Marty Fogarty, a coordinator at St. Aedan's, said this is one way they will use the money raised at the CYO Coaches' Classic March 10

"In addition to the monies sent ot Catholic Charities, St. Aedan's also gives out two scholarships to high school seniors who donate their time to the program, donates to local families in need and reinvests the monies raised back into the program. 

"St. Aedan's CYO basketball is a volunteer-based organization that provides basketball instruction to first and second gradrs and entered 25 teams in the Rockland County CYO Basketball League."

There are over 280 children in the program, spread among grades one through eight.
