Thanksgiving Weekend Brings Alumni Events

Thanksgiving weekend brings alumni events to Pearl River, including many at local sports venues.

In addition to the slate of alumni games, at least Pearl River High School classes will hold reunions. 

  • The Class of 1983 will hold its 30th reunion 7 p.m. Friday at Joe & Joe's Restaurant.
  • The Class of 1988 set its 25th reunion for 7 p.m. Friday at T.F. Noonan's.
  • Noonan's will again be the site as the class of 1993 has its 20th reunion 8 p.m. Saturday.
Other alumni will be gathering for a series of sporting events starting with the Little Brown Jug Alumni Football game 10 a.m. Thursday at Nanuet High School. The full schedule has changed since the initial one in this reporton Patch. 
The alumni games for volleyball and girls soccer have been cancelled. The start time for the hockey game was moved up to 6:15 p.m. Friday. 
The current schedule is as follows:
  • Little Brown Jug Alumni Football game vs. Nanuet 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 28 at Nanuet. 
  • Shuttleworth Legends Alumni Flag Football Game 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 29 on the Central Ave. Field in Pearl River. 
  • Alumni Men's Basketball Game 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 29 at Pearl river High School. 
  • Alumni Men's Ice Hockey Game 6:15 p.m. Friday, Nov. 29 at Sport-O-Rama Ice Rink in Monsey. Please note time change.
  • Alumni Field HOckey Game at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 30 at Pearl River High School. 
  • Gus Miller Alumni Men's Soccer Game at noon Saturday, Nov. 30 at Pearl River High School. 
  • Rockland County Alumni Cross Country Run at Bear Mountain. Registration is at 11 a.m. The Kids Fun Run Races start at 11:30 a.m. The three-mile Alumni Run begins at noon. Open to all alumni.

Orangetown Patriots Fundraiser at Little Scoops

  • Where: Little Scoops at 500 Route 303 in Orangeburg
  • When: Friday, Nov. 29 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Cost: Free 
  • Description: This fundraising event will help pay for two teams of Orangetown Patriots Cheerleaders to go to the national competition in Florida. It features face painting, a Rainbow Loom sale, cheer apparel and, of course, ice cream. Little Scoops will donate 20 percent of proceeds from the day and $25 per party booked. 
Black Friday Giveaway
  • Where: Palisades Center Mall in West Nyack
  • When: Friday (morning), Nov. 29, starting at midnight
  • Cost: Staying up late after a big Thanksgiving dinner
  • Description: The Black Friday Giveaway begins at midnight at the Level 1 customer service desk. The first 250 people will spin the prize wheel. Among the items on it are gift cards ranging in value from $10 to $300.
