Barry, if he has those accounts....the FBI will find them. I believe the FBI knows exactly whatRead More these guys were up to, the raid will only substantiate what they already know. St Lawrence is finished.
Barry Lane May 16, 2013 at 06:12 pm
"St Lawrence said today that the FBI asked for his records and he let them have the records.Read More Now thats cooperation!" Does that mean that St. Lawrence let the FBI have the records of his secret Cayman Island, Bahamian or Swiss bank accounts?

Very bad planning to have this race the same day as the Nyack Street Fair; couldn't they be onRead More different weekends? This is really very disruptive for the village...

On Friday, it took 4 calls to town hall to finally find someone who could tell me anything aboutRead More this 5,000 cyclist bike race. The police didn't even know the details and it wasn't on the town hall website! Very disappointing to this Clarkstown resident.
Robin Traum (Editor) May 17, 2013 at 06:04 pm
This article has been updated with the roads in Clarkstown that will be affected by the bike race.

There was nothing done to improve safety to the workers or the customer after the robbery... He gotRead More more then cigarettes he shot his gun, got a few grand and a few 100 dollars worth of cigarettes, plus people last month were arrested for shooting heroin in the bathrooms, no locks on the bathrooms, no security, drug use in parked cars on CVS property, The fact that the company and the town do nothing about this is rediculous.

The presentation last night was excellent and hopefully it will help start the conversation on allRead More levels - prescription drugs are like weapons - they should be locked up!
Debra Goldstein May 9, 2013 at 02:55 pm
Good luck getting treatment. You would be better off getting arrested, pleading a deal to go to aRead More drug rehab. Health insurance does not cover drug rehab for 28 days, you would need an additional rider on your policy and this still would not guarantee your admittance into a facility. The insurance company's want you do out patient and if you fail at that numerous times over then maybe you can get into a 28 day program. It's a total Catch 22.

Didn't know Jade was involved like that! That's disappointing.

Hey IT the 4 above mentioned title companies u referenced above actually do have joint ventures setRead More up with local attorneys or real estate brokerages. Research jade of new York for example. Is it fair to recommend companies when you have no idea what your talking about. At the very least rand has disclosures while the following companies you mentioned don't.
rr May 12, 2013 at 12:51 pm
The fact of the matter is that there are many "other" interested parties that own or haveRead More a form of ownership in title companies. They include attorneys, banks/lenders, escrow companies and real estate brokers. A comment above mentioned RESPA which is an act put in place to protect consumers. A consumer DOES even need to ask any of the above if there could be a potential conflict of interest. They are required to sign an "acknowledgement" which indicates that the company/person your dealing with, COULD have an "affiliated relationship" with one or more of the "other" vendors you will be required to pay a fee to. If a consumer, a borrower or purchaser or both are asked to sign one of these "acknowledgements" it is safe to expect and assume they will be receiving additional monetary compensation from you under another corporate entity/required service (title, appraisal, home inspector, tax paying agency, etc.). Having said that there are a few, (very few these days) of completely independent reputable title companies that have ONLY the interest of there clients (buyers/borrowers) and underwriters to be concerned with. I would implore consumers to research those companies (Jade Abstract, Rockwest Abstract, Judicial Title, Hudson Valley Abstract to name a few) to maintain some control over the fee(s) they pay and in an effort to insure that the company they deal with, deals with them as a PRIMARY concern.

If some guy beat me up- and broke my arm in the process, i would want him punished- yes.... however,Read More i dont believe a 5 year prison sentence for beating somebody up is justified.. Yes- it was a police officer and this kid did have drugs on him which is bad... i think he should spend a year or two in the county jail.. but at such a young age, 5 years in a state prison with serious criminals will NOT rehabilitate this young man.. Instead, he will get used to prison life and likely make some inmate friends in the process. The likelihood of recidivism will be so high. AGAIN... i am not saying he should not be punished..but i believe in rehabilitation, and 5 years in prison will not rehabilitate this young man

@reality "He said last week he learned that she was hired....It was never mentioned again"Read More That is NOT what he said what he did say was this "Last week we learned that Kathy Boudin was RECENTLY employed and then he said at the bottom "Finally come to the memorial to hear of the absolutely deplorable acts that your NEWLY HIRED employee committed that directly led to the murder of these three men, and ask yourself...... Ya gotta read the whole article not just the parts you want to read. as far as this "What he did repeatedly say was that Boudin was a radical, murdering terrorist!! Which I agree with and i do not for the most part disagree she "was" one, although she killed no during brinks, but she isn't one now. It's called rehabilitation
stephany April 10, 2013 at 03:48 pm

This fella caused much more havoc than the 90 year old man that drove into the gas station. So thisRead More blows the theory about older drivers being so dangerous.
