I would like to clarify that the fields used by PRLL are not "town owned, tax supportedRead More fields". The complex is privately owned by the American Legion post 1199 and PRLL pays rent to the American Legion for use of the fields. The cost of operating and maintaining the complex is done completely by the families who play there and Verizon has allowed PRLL families to use the parking lot as a courtesy. PRLL is grateful to the American Legion and Verizon for use of their spaces over the years and we hope that this parking issue will be rectified soon. Feel free to email me directly if you would like more information about PRLL. Joan Bourke President PRLL jmbprll@aol.com

I stand corrected. I think the gist of my comment stands nevertheless. The fact that our LL scheduleRead More is subject to the whims and "courtesy" of This corporation is a sad state of affairs. No one seems to be standing up for the kids here. I'm all for corporate sponsorship, or corporate partnerships but this relationship seems a little less equitable and more reluctant charity. I do hope Verizon gets bad press for this and I for one am happy to speak the word.
