Palisades Center Announces Makeover

Palisades Center announced a major renovation to take place by the end of 2013.

Palisades Center in West Nyack will be taking on a new look in the coming months.

The mall announced a major renovation of the interior and exterior of the mall Friday, stating that they hope to complete work by the end of 2013.

"We want our 24 million annual vistors to be happier than ever," said Palisades Center Director of Marketing Leemarie Dell'Acchio.

The plan includes completely remade entrances, ceilings, floors, tiling and lighting. The color and texture themes will be changed, as will the restrooms. There will be soft seating areas designed for comfort with WiFi available.

According to a release from Dell'Acchio, "The 4-story center court structure will be remodeled using a warmer paint scheme, glass handrails, and architectural lighting elements. The already unique ThEATery level will be transformed to look stunning and sophisticated with the tile floors and chandelier fixtures."

Palisades Center began a live virtual press conference at 11 a.m. Friday at www.twitter.com/palisadescntr. Though they are not releasing an exact dollar amount, the project is expected to cost "tens of millions of dollars." They are not planning to close any stores or restaurants while during the work.
