The Tommy Scogs Foundation scheduled a fundraiser for Oct. 5 from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. in the Pearl River Elks Club.
The foundation raises money in the name of Thomas Scognamiglio, a 16-years-old Pearl River High School student who died October of 2012 from Osteocsarcoma, a cancerous bone tumor.
The Tommy Scogs Foundation, Inc is a 501c3 charity raising money for multiple causes including.
- A gift of two baseball dugouts to Pearl River High School
- An academic gift to Pearl River High School to be determined
- Scholarships for graduating Pearl River seniors
- Donations to the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Hospital and other institutions to help fund research into a cure for Osteosarcoma
- Aid for Rockland County families dealing with tragedy
