Pearl River Man Arrested for Attempted Burglary

Orangetown Police arrested Justin A. Delgardio, 28, of Pearl River Thursday during an apparent burglary attempt on Oldert Drive in Pearl River.

Accoding to Orangetown Police, an officer found Delgardio behind the house, having just removed a window screen from a rear window. Two glass windows were open in what looked like an attempt to enter the house. Police were tipped off by a report from a neighbor. 

The officer arrested Delgardio after establishing that he had no legitimate reason to be on the property. A search of the subject's 1986 Honda Accord turned up three hypodermic needles and four Clonazepam pills,

Delgardio was charged with Attempted Burglary, a 2nd degree felony, and misdemeanor charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance and 7th degree  criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument. He was sent to Rockland County Jail on $5,000 bail and is due back in Orangetown Court May 28.
